The short version
Beyond Offline, Inc. (“Beyond Offline,” “we,” “us”) is a New York retail agency. We collect the minimum amount of information needed to run our website, respond to inquiries, and deliver work for our clients. We don't sell your data, we don't run ad networks, and we don't share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
This page explains the details. If you only have thirty seconds, the bullet list is enough:
- We collect contact information you give us through forms and email.
- We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are useful.
- Client project data is treated as confidential and stays in systems you control wherever possible.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time.
02
What we collect
Information you provide. When you fill out an inquiry form, subscribe to our newsletter, or email us, we receive the information you choose to share, typically your name, email address, store name, location, and a description of what you're trying to do online.
Information from our website. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp) for security and debugging. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that reports aggregated, anonymized traffic patterns and does not build cross-site profiles of visitors.
Information from client engagements. When you hire us, we may receive access to your store's point-of-sale data, e-commerce platform, marketing tools, and cloud accounts. We treat this as confidential under our Master Services Agreement.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
03
Why we collect it
We use the information described above to:
- Reply to your inquiries and proposals.
- Deliver and improve client work, including building storefronts, running marketing campaigns, and reporting on results.
- Send our monthly “Shopkeeper's Dispatch” newsletter to people who've subscribed (you can unsubscribe in any email).
- Keep our website and infrastructure secure and operational.
- Comply with our legal obligations (taxes, contracts, accounting).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
05
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry-form submissions for up to 24 months unless you become a client (in which case we keep them for the life of the engagement plus 7 years for tax and contractual reasons). Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for 30 days.
Client project data is kept according to the retention terms of your Master Services Agreement and is deleted or returned at the end of the engagement on request.
06
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states), you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Opt out of certain processing, including any “sale” or “sharing” (we don't do either, but the right exists regardless).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@beyondoffline.com. We'll verify your identity and respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
08
International transfers
Beyond Offline is based in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the U.S., be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms.
